This position is responsible for developing and executing the
enterprise-wide M&A strategy, leading the corporate M&A
team, as well as developing and executing strategic projects within
the finance organization. This individual would be responsible for
sourcing and evaluating transactions, and leading Brunswick
business units or corporate teams through a transaction process.
This individual would have broad and frequent interaction with
senior management and the board of directors, as well as other
corporate functional areas across the enterprise including tax,
legal, treasury and accounting.
Development of Strategic Plans
Driving business development activities, including M&A and
strategic investment decisions, strategic business opportunities,
special projects/growth initiatives, including partnerships,
alliances, joint ventures, and licensing agreements.
Partnering with strategy to lead research and analysis of new
markets, industry segments, and identify trends and strategic areas
Utilize tools to evaluate opportunities in the corporate
Developing and implementing strategic plans to enable the
finance function to run in a more modern, streamlined fashion.
Working with Brunswick business units and corporate finance to
understand key financial processes and available technologies and
designing strategies to improve overall efficiency and performance
of the enterprise finance function.
Lead and Oversee Full M&A Process
Developing and managing the merger and acquisition activities
across the enterprise.
Identifying merger and acquisition opportunities and overseeing
the negotiation process.
Performing financial valuations using discounted cash flow and
other valuation models.
Leading the execution of acquisitions by working closely with
cross-functional due diligence teams on diligence coordination,
integration planning, transaction structuring, financial modeling,
valuation modeling, valuation and negotiation and internal approval
Working with various Brunswick business units in understanding
and addressing the financial risks of acquisition target.
Communicating financial due diligence findings to legal
department for consideration in negotiations and the transaction
Overseeing, and in certain cases performing, financial due
diligence on acquisition targets.
Assisting M&A and Legal departments in drafting of the
Performing preliminary purchase price allocation
Lead the planning and management of integration efforts for all
Preparing routine and adhoc presentations and reporting packages
to executive management.
Assisting in cultivating and maintaining relationships with
external advisors and potential M&A targets
Requires a bachelor's degree in finance or accounting and at
least 15 years of direct experience in the field
Must be able to travel as reasonably needed to complete
Prior M&A experience and advanced degree or professional
certification (MBA/CPA) preferred.
Public accounting and M&A experience is preferred.
Strong analytic skills and understanding of financial reporting,
accounting, financial due diligence, financial and business
analysis, financial modeling,
Excel and PowerPoint skills
Executive presence and adaptable interpersonal and written
communication skills at different levels in the organization
Strong initiative, energy and drive
Ability to effectively work in a team environment, leading cross
functional teams through projects
Ability to effectively lead discussions with Brunswick and
acquisition target’s management.
Proven ability to lead a team and balance numerous projects
