What is a HR Clerk

The HR Clerk will contribute to the success of the Human Resources department through a variety of HR activities and clerical support.

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate must have at least two years' experience as a secretary or administrative assistant or equivalent Human Resources training. This is a part-time position, 30 hours a week, reporting to the HR Director.

Duties and Responsibilities

* Use appropriate computer programs to create and maintain business forms, reports, spreadsheets, and databases, including: address changes, emergency contact lists, employee headcount reports, turnover reports, and organization and seating charts.
* Provide backup to other HR Team members, including recruiting, new-hire onboarding, Affirmative Action Plan maintenance, and performance review processing.
* Process verification of employment requests and coordinate Drug-Free Workplace testing.
* Send out email blast announcements and maintain bulletin boards, including Labor Law posters.
* Coordinate and plan HR sponsored events and activities.
* Order flowers and process invoices.
* Distribute mail, maintain electronic personnel filing, order supplies, and run business errands. 8. Scan documents for archival purposes for compliance and/or reference.
* Interact and communicate with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers, and peers effectively.
* Comply with policies, procedures, standards, and rules of the Company.
* Maintain quality assurance policy consistent with ISO standards.
* Maintain work area in a clean, orderly and safe manner.
* Punctual, regular and consistent attendance.
* Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education

* High school diploma or equivalent. HR degree or coursework a plus. Able to read, write, and follow verbal instructions in Standard English. Two years' experience as a secretary or administrative assistant or equivalent Human Resources training. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams. Internet literate Familiarity with UKG or other HRIS systems preferred Ability to multi-task, prioritize and maintain a high level of confidentiality. Ability to interact with all levels of employees within the Company, as well as suppliers, customers and peers effectively. Successful passing of a routine motor vehicle and credit report.

Physical and Technical Environment

* Minimal lifting up to 25 pounds occasionally. Must be able to sit, stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, bend and stoop in a normal office environment. Ability to routinely travel throughout multi-floor office and shop area, walking, climbing stairs, utilizing elevator. Clean and orderly manufacturing environment and/or normal office conditions, changing deadlines and project requirements, strict time constraints.
