Job Description & Requirements - Specialty: PCU - Progressive Care Unit - Discipline: RN - Start Date: 04/19/2026 - Duration: 13 weeks - 36 hours per week - Shift: 12 hours, nights - Employment Type: Travel Opportunity: RN - Stepdown Job Details: • Provide safe, efficient, age-specific nursing care to patients and families using the nursing process • Implement nursing process by delivering effective relationship-based nursing care • Demonstrate technical skills in care delivery that result in safe practice and positive care outcomes • Communicate clearly and collaborate effectively to optimize patient care and clinical operations • Work in 30-bed stepdown unit caring for mix of medical and surgical patients • Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, 1:5, or 1:6 • Float to inpatient areas including SDU, MCU, West Medical, West Surgical, and ED for boarded patients • May float to UH Tripoint Medical Center areas including TP ST, TP MT, TP CCU, and ED for boarded patients • Unit consists of both private and semi-private patient rooms • Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, and NIH • Develop professional nursing skills and contribute to nursing practice • Display leadership that influences optimal clinical and operational outcomes Facility: This medical center operates as part of a larger healthcare system providing comprehensive medical and surgical services to the community.
