An opportunity is available for a registered nurse skilled in stepdown care, focusing on advanced cardiac conditions in a specialized unit. This role involves caring for patients with complex heart failure, pulmonary hypertension, and a variety of cardiac dysrhythmias, including those with implantable cardiac devices and ventricular assistive devices. Experience in managing pre- and post-procedure care, such as cardiac catheterization and ablation, as well as administering specific anti-dysrhythmic medications, is essential. Responsibilities include: Monitoring and managing patients with advanced heart failure and pulmonary hypertension Providing care for patients with implantable cardiac devices and those awaiting heart transplants Administering specialized treatments including chemical cardioversion utilizing anti-dysrhythmic agents Supporting broad medical-surgical nursing as part of the hospitalist service backup Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care tailored to complex cardiac conditions Desired qualifications and experience: Valid RN licensure with stepdown nursing expertise Proficient knowledge of cardiac care and management of dysrhythmias Experience in critical care settings or cardiac specialty nursing preferred Ability to handle specialized medical equipment and therapies Strong clinical judgment and patient assessment skills This contract position is located in a vibrant community with access to urban amenities and natural outdoor spaces.
