Job Description Job Description Verita Telecommunications is seeking an experienced Fiber Splicer to join our growing team. This role is responsible for the installation, splicing, testing, and maintenance of fiber optic networks in aerial, underground, and inside plant environments. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, safety-focused, and comfortable working in the field. Responsibilities Perform fusion splicing and termination of fiber optic cables Install and maintain fiber optic enclosures, splice cases, and panels Test fiber using OTDRs, power meters, and VFLs to ensure signal integrity Troubleshoot and repair fiber optic network issues Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and work orders Document splicing activity, test results, and as-built information Work closely with construction crews, supervisors, and project managers Follow all company and site safety policies and procedures Maintain tools, vehicles, and equipment in good working condition Assist with emergency repairs and on-call work as needed Qualifications Previous experience as a Fiber Splicer in a telecom environment Knowledge of aerial, underground, and inside plant fiber systems Proficiency with fiber testing equipment (OTDR, power meter, VFL) Ability to read prints and fiber documentation Valid driver’s license Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions Ability to lift 75–100 lbs and perform physical job duties Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills Preferred Qualifications Experience with mainline and distribution fiber splicing OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification Bucket truck or aerial lift experience Familiarity with MSO or ISP fiber networks Team Verita Benefits Financial Wellbeing Competitive pay (based on experience) with ongoing performance review and annual merit increase 401(k) with company match Health & Wellness Choice of various PPO, HMO, and HSA accompanied plans Family & Lifestyle Paid Time Off, Paid Holidays, Bereavement Leave Planning for the Unexpected Short and long-term disability, life insurance Paid for by the company Accidental death & dismemberment Paid for by the company Voluntary life insurance, accident, and critical illness
