Job Summary: Responsible for new process and product development and manufacturing technical support to grow Momentive Technologies business in the rapidly expanding wide bandgap (WBG) semiconductor market. WBG semiconductors including SiC and GaN are redefining the transportation, energy, and communication industries. Momentive Technologies products are enabling growth in these exciting applications and playing a key role in reducing the carbon footprint of these industries.

Job Description:

• Develop new ceramics coating products and processes using science and engineering expertise to meet new market demands
• Lead New Product Introduction (NPI) projects with cross-functional teams and external validation partners
• Apply project management skills in planning, budgeting, reporting, time management, resource allocation, and risk management
• Determine Critical to Quality variables and perform feasibility testing, prototyping, pilot testing, and scaling
• Develop and transfer robust procedures for new and existing products to manufacturing
• Apply Six Sigma and Lean principles to identify process and product improvements, improve yield, reduce waste and variation, and achieve desired outputs
• Generate intellectual property such as technical reports, operation procedures, patents, and publications
• Create product literature and provide technical training to the commercial team Minimum Qualifications:
  • Master's degree or PhD in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Material Science, or Applied Physics
  • Familiar with material characterization techniques including XRD, SEM, EDS, XPS, TGA and thermal conductivity measurement
  • Project leadership experience - effective planning and prioritization of projects to ensure on time delivery of new product/process technologies
  • Ability to work in an industrial environment with personal protective equipment
  • Proven interaction skills in a multi-functional team environment; ability to own key aspects of projects
  • A strong sense of accountability, urgency, and self-direction Preferred Qualifications:
    • Semiconductor material processing background or knowledge
    • Familiarity with chemical vapor deposition (CVD) processes
    • Experience in ceramic or metallic coating technologies and refractory materials
    • Six Sigma or Lean training or certifications
    • Demonstrated project management experience
    • Experience in new product development using Stage-Gate process
    • Proficient in the following:
      • Mechanical design (e.g., SolidWorks)
      • Thermal and/or stress simulation (e.g., Ansys)
      • Vacuum system design and layout
      • Refractories and material selection for high temperature
      • Statistical software (e.g., Minitab)
